Jerry Liston Hunt, age 77, of Loop passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in Lubbock.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2016 at Loop Church of Christ in Loop, Texas with Minister Larry Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Gaines County Cemetery in Loop. Personal services have been entrusted to Mark A Jones Funeral Directors of Seagraves.
Jerry was born on October 7, 1938 to Robert and Lula Hunt in Brownfield, Texas. He married the love of his life Diane Conner on December 23, 1960 in Seagraves, Texas. They moved to Loop in 1985 from Haskell, Texas.
Jerry was a dispatcher in the oilfield business for many years and retired in 2004. He attended the Loop Church of Christ where he served as part of the praise and worship team as well at being an elder for over five years.
He loved sports of all kinds, especially Texas Tech and the San Antonio Spurs. His hobbies were hunting, watching westerns, and collecting guns and pocket knives.
His family will remember his love for them, his great sense of humor, being very loving and generous.
Those left to cherish his memories: wife, of 55 years, Diane of the home; 2 sons: Conner Hunt of Loop and Casey Hunt and wife Sarah of Andrews; 3 daughters: Trina Haley and husband Kevin of San Antonio, Jana Hannsz and husband Mark of Lubbock, and Lissa Russo and husband Louis of Ft. Worth; 1 sister: Carolyn Coday and husband Bill of Tulsa, OK.
He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother: Charlie Bob Hunt.
