John Iva Willis was born June 21, 1943 in Brownfield to Lillie Mae and Troy Willis. He died Jan. 6, 2015 after a lengthy illness. He served in the National Guard from 1960 to 1967. He was a longtime employee of Rainbow Bakery and worked as a painter until his retirement. He was married to Linda Renfro for 17 years and had been married to Ollie Cook for the last 27 years. He is survived by his mother, Lillie Mae Willis of Lubbock; his wife, Ollie of Shallowater; son, Ricky and Beverly Willis of Lubbock; daughter, Melinda and Bobby Jesko of Lubbock; stepsons, Wayne, Allen and Phillip Cook of Shallowater; stepdaughter, Dana Johnson of Shallowater; four grandchildren, Christa Jesko, Bradley and Taylor Willis, and Anthony and Jocelyn Jesko; two step-grandchildren, Rayla and Cristal; three great-grandchildren, Jaelyn, Kyla and Korbin; and one step-grandchild, Noah. He was preceded in death by father, Troy Willis; grandson, Tyler Glenn Willis; and brothers, Troy Lee Willis and Roy Willis. A viewing will be held at Brownfield Funeral Home Friday, Jan. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Brownfield Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Brownfield Cemetery.
