Don’t just volunteer. Be a leader. Join “Team CASA.”
Lubbock, Texas – Every child in foster care deserves the voice of a caring, consistent adult who will make sure their needs are heard and that they don’t get lost in a storm of chaos and uncertainty. By joining “Team CASA” and becoming a CASA Volunteer, community members can make a clear, positive difference in the life of a child in foster care. A CASA, or a Court Appointed Special Advocate, helps a child in foster care navigate the child welfare system while working to ensure their needs are being met and to advocate for a safe, permanent home.
Learn how you can become a CASA Volunteer by attending the upcoming CASA 101 Informational Session hosted by CASA of the South Plains on Thursday, September 5th from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the CASA office at 1215 Avenue J, on the second floor. This is a great, no-obligation introduction to CASA and its mission. CASA staff and current Advocates will be on hand to discuss the increasing need for volunteers, what it means to be a CASA, and how community members can help make a difference in the lives of children in foster care.
To attend, please register at www.casaofthesouthplains.org or contact Patti Castro, Recruitment Director, by Wednesday, September 4th at (806) 763-2272 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
