Judge Wagner issues his thanks and statement on leaving office in December 2022

by admin

It has been my pleasure to serve as the Terry County Judge for the last 11 years. I have enjoyed my time as Judge immensely and have one more year to go as Terry County Judge.

It has been both an honor, and a challenge at times. As we have gone through these COVID years, the job has gotten tougher. Hard decisions had to be made, at times. I am grateful for the great crew at the Courthouse who helped and stood by me through all of these issues.

Having gone through COVID myself, I have found that it has taken, perhaps more of a toll on me than I wanted to think. I’m just tired and Kaye and I are ready to do some traveling and spend some time together.

No matter what you may hear, or think, my sole reason for leaving office in December of 2022 is just that I am ready to rest and relax. No other reason.

Whoever wins the job in the next election will have my support and my help in any way I can.

I want you to remember me as a servant of the County who always had the County’s best interests at heart. I love all of you and wish you the best.

Thanks for all your support and prayers throughout my time as your Judge.

Judge J.D. “Butch” Wagner
