The junior varsity Mustangs ran their early district record to a perfect 2-0 with a run rule 13-1 win over Post on Tuesday on the Antelopes home turf.
The Mustangs jumped out to a quick lead scoring 7 runs over the first three innings. They tacked on 6 more in the 5th ending the game with the 10 run mercy rule.
Chad Dyck and Ty Brumley had the big bats for the Mustangs with each one collecting three hits. Daven Blanco, Darren Pacheco, Spencer Marion, Evan Rios, and Giovanni Villa all finished with one hit.
Villa, Pacheco, and Dyck each had 2 RBI’s while Brumley and Rios both had one each.
Blanco went the distance for the Mustangs giving up one run on one hit, struck out 10 and had no base on balls.
After hosting Roosevelt on Saturday the Mustangs will travel to Brownfield on Tuesday.
