Senior volleyball player Karley David was named to the Texas Girl’s Coaching Association 2016 Volleyball Legacy Team, according to Fillie coach Megan David.

This team is a group of 25 1A through 4A high school senior volleyball players who had an outstanding senior year in volleyball.

“This year the TCGA did away with the senior All Star game in July and replaced it with an Incoming Senior All Star game,” according to Coach David. “The seniors this year who were voted to play are called Legacy All-Stars and Karley received that honor.”

To back up her selection to this elite squad this past season Karley had 470 kills out of 980 attacks, a very respectable 48 percent ratio. She also had 68 aces from the service line with just 19 serving errors and 266 service points. Defensively she had 210 digs and 54 solo blocks.

Karley capped off her senior year by helping her team advance to the state volleyball tournament where they were defeated in the semifinals.

She will continue her volleyball career next year when she will be playing for former Fillie volleyball coach Jennifer Lawrence at Lubbock Christian University.
