Seagraves-Seal-e1424267072204Monday night’s Seagraves City Council meeting was a packed house of about 40 – 50 people.

TownTalk Radio spoke with councilmen Jeremy Nelson, who believes that not enough information was present on a social media post which possibly lead to the packed house.

The agenda item in question was the number of police officers on staff and the number of police vehicles being used.

Nelson said, “There is no problem, we have a great police chief and we are right on schedule to come in under the allowed budget for the police department.”

Nelson also stated that he takes great pride in the people of Seagraves for supporting the police department and encouraged all of them to attend the next meeting August 15 as the council begins budget discussions.

When the floor was opened to the public there was about four and a half minutes of praise given to the Seagraves Police Department by various members of the community.

SPDChief Scott McAuley took notice of the publics support and posted to Facebook his gratitude towards the citizens of Seagraves.

Chief McAuley wrote, “You have to be the most awesome people in the world, I have never been in a place like this, where so much love and support surround your Police, Fire, and EMS.”

Chief McAuley also took time to thank the city council for their support on the Seagraves Police Department and their help in maintaining the level of protection that Seagraves deserves.
