On December 24, 1935, Iva LaDeane was born to Everett and Lenora Jordan in Ada, OK. She married her childhood sweetheart Bennie on May 24th, 1952 in Brownfield, Texas, They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year.  LaDeane attended school at Meadow and Ropes School Districts.

Bennie started his farming career in the Tokio area in 1957 with LaDeane by his side.   In 1959, with 3 small children, they moved to the Brownfield area. There Bennie continued farming and LaDeane took care of the home while working the large vegetable garden and canning the bounty.  Often she took home-cooked meals out to the farm during harvesting season so the men could keep working into the night.

In 2011 they moved to Lubbock to be closer to family and friends.  She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, gardening, canning, and cooking.  These were the passions of a life well spent.
