Lady Cub volleyball season ends with loss to Holliday

Playing Holliday is no holiday, all the Lady Cubs would assure you. For the second year in a row, the Lady Cub volleyball season ended with a loss in the Regional Semifinals to Holliday.

The match went four sets with the scores being 16-25, 25-23, 24-26, and 25-14.

In the match Lindsey Herrera had 25 digs, Gabi Fields had 17 digs, six kills and 28 assists. Deja Johnson had 14 kills, and her sister Tia had 10. Meriah Gonzales had 12 digs and seven kills. Dabria Blackwell had nine kills.

It was a tough match and hard to end the season again, at the hands of Holliday.

Head Coach Mallorie Ellis stated, “I am very proud of the season we had. These girls fought until the very end and I could not ask for more. We only lost five matches all season. That in itself is something to be proud of.”

The Lady Cubs end their season with a 33-5 record, and a perfect 10-0 record in district.

Seniors playing their last match for the Red and White were Lindsey Herrera, Gabi Fields, Dabria Blackwell, Kimbreigh Edwards, Gabby Gonzales, Meriah Gonzales, Mya Romero, Tia Johnson, and Deja Johnson.
