It was in the fourth inning, with two outs that the Lady Cubs bats got hot again as Sydney Fabila hit a 2 RBI double and Shae Valenzuela had an RBI single. These, accompanied by a few more Fillies errors gave the Lady Cuba a 8-0 lead.

Valenzuela hit an RBI single, followed by an error, which allowed Franco to score. Kamryn Martinez tripled to score Valenzuela, and Bryanna Bazan had a RBI single to score Martinez, giving the Lady Cubs a 12-3 lead.
The Lady Cubs added to their lead in the 7th when Ashley Ramirez reached base on a single. Libby Guerra then reached base on an error allowing Ramirez to score. Brianne Franco then singled bringing in Guerra, making the score 14-4. The Fillies would score two runs in the 7th but it was not enough as the Lady Cubs claimed the district opener.
