The Lady Cubs historic season came to an end after a 68-37 loss to Idalou in Littlefield Tuesday night in Regional Quarter Final action.
The Lady Cubs took the court facing yet another top ten opponent in Idalou last night. The Lady Cats came out strong scoring in their first few trip down the court while the Lady Cubs struggled to get their offense going. The Lady Cats were able to take a 17-10 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. It was a tough second quarter as the Lady Cats continued to force turnover, while the Lady Cubs gave up multiple fast break points and were out rebounded on both ends of the floor.
The second half was even more lopsided as the Lady Cats were able to take a nineteen point lead that was too much for the Lady Cubs to overcome. The Lady Cats out rebounded the Lady Cubs 30-15 and won the turnover battle 11-2.
Tia Johnson led the Lady Cubs in scoring with 9, followed by Gabi Fields with 8, Deja Johnson with 6, Lindsey Herrera and Ashley Ramirez with 5, and Morgan Silva with 4.
The Lady Cubs finished the season with a 29-7 record, one of the best in school history, highlighted by three wins over top ten teams in the state. The Lady Cubs are going to miss their lone senior Morgan Silva next season, however the Lady Cubs had six sophomores and one freshman on this years team as well so they will definitely be poised for another run.
It was great year for the Lady Cub basketball team and their coaches and we look forward to seeing them again next year.
