The Seagraves Lady Eagles lost a close game against the Sudan Lady Hornets Tuesday night 25-33.

Junior guard Bryannah Minjarez led the team with 18 points. Her sister senior guard Vicky Minjarez had seven. Freshman Ontaveya Kyle finished up with six rebounds.

Freshman post Sirena Minjarez said the team has some improvements to make. “We need to move better on defense and communicate better as a team,” said Minjarez.

Coach Tami Wilson said even though the girls won’t be going to the playoffs, there are still big lessons to learn. “I’ve stressed to the girls that you still have to be disciplined and competitive even though we’re not making the playoffs. You can always grow and learn from every game.”

The team travels to Tahoka Friday night to play the Lady Bulldogs. Tipoff is a 6:30 pm.
