Texas Game Wardens Conduct Virtual Ride-Along via Twitter

Lubbock and surrounding area counties– Texas game wardens will conduct their fourth virtual patrol ride-along via Twitter on Saturday, December 5th during the opening day of pheasant season. This marks the first time that Texas Parks and Wildlife will conduct a virtual ride along in the greater Lubbock district, with one of the local wardens.

During the patrol, the wardens will give the public a first-hand look at what it’s like to be a panhandle plains warden on one of their busier days of the year.

Throughout that day, the agency’s technology warden, also a commissioned game warden, will join wardens in the panhandle and tweet continuously what happens.  The public is invited to follow along at twitter.com/TexasGameWarden or @TexasGameWarden.

“Our conservation enforcement role is exciting and ever-changing,” says Col. Craig Hunter, Director of Law Enforcement for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. “Using this new social media technology allows us a way to show the public what our game wardens do.”

Pheasant season runs in counties with an open season, from December 5th through January 3rd. Hunters are reminded that they need a current hunting license, including the upland game bird stamp, and that the daily bag limit is 3 cocks per hunter.
