Lynn Brisendine Plaza

by Gina 03/13/2020
written by Gina 03/13/2020

One of the great additions to The Square in downtown Brownfield has been the completion of the Lynn Brisendine Plaza. Named for long-time newspaper man and Brownfield supporter Brisendine, the Plaza took an ugly eyesore and turned it into a beautiful gathering place for local citizens.

There has been one thing missing for some time and that is a sign telling people exactly who it is named for. Thanks to BHS Welding teacher Shelby Smith and his class, a new sign will soon be in place.

The kids were excited to display their work and they talked about how great it felt to be a part of something that will be seen for years to come. To a man, they all talked with pride about the work that went into getting the sign completed.

The welding portion is done and the sign has now gone to be powder coated for a long life. Soon, it will be on display in the gateway to the Plaza.

There is another addition coming soon that will be unveiled when the sign is hung. Be sure you keep an eye on TownTalk Radio for the latest information!

Thanks to the Welding students at BHS for this great addition! C Us Rise!!
