Mae was born on September 17, 1935 to D.L. (Dowe) and Annie Ruth (Stone) Clark in Childress. She attended school in Loop and then moved to California, where she worked as the secretary of Lost Hills Elementary School. After retiring, she returned to Brownfield and enjoyed many years with family and friends. She was a member of the Brownfield Church of Christ and volunteered with the local Meals on Wheels.

Her family lovingly called her “G.G.,” and remembers her as a kind and sweet woman who had a quiet nature, that is, until her grandchildren came around. She was proud of her family and enjoyed playing games with her many friends. Her hobbies included faithfully watching Jeopardy, solving jigsaw puzzles, reading, cooking and gardening. She left a wonderful legacy and will be greatly missed!

Mae was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Harley Clark and a son, Bill Bottoms. She is survived by her son, Steven Bottoms of Bakersfield, CA; 3 daughters, Terri Rogers of Lubbock, Vicki Melcher and husband, Doug, of Brownfield, and Lisa Bottoms of Gainesville; 3 sisters, Nell Parker of Graham, Gerry Aldridge of Magdalena, NM, and Sharon Jones of McAlester, OK; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
