Funeral services for Mary Helen Sandlin, 74, of Denver City will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 5, 2017, in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Struen officiating under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Denver City.

She passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017 in Denver City. Mary was born April 19, 1943 in Phoenix, AZ, to Delma and Lula Beatrice West. She married Robert Jack Sandlin on August 5, 1961 in Denver City, Texas. She graduated from Denver City High School in 1961. Attended College and graduated from College of the Southwest. She later worked for DCISD as a teacher, teaching 4th grade reading and computers. Fond memories shared by every family member were her homemade birthday cards.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Delma Lee West; her mother, Lula Beatrice Everson; a brother, Clifford Lee West; a sister, Gracie Miller; and in-laws, Bob and Ruth Sandlin. She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Sandlin; two sons, Robert K. Sandlin and wife, Robin, John C. Sandlin and wife, Becky; a daughter, Rhonda Fontenot and husband, Daniel, all of Denver City; two sisters, Joy Tyler and husband, Harley, Debbie Rodriguez and husband, Willie all of Andrews, Texas; four grandchildren: Hunter Sandlin, Reagan Fontenot, Chase Sandlin, Annisten Sandlin; a brother-in-law, Johnny Sandlin of Plainview, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Judy Lightfoot of Burnet, Texas, June Sullivan and husband, Dale of Lake Jackson, Texas; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Children’s Miracle Network or Lamb’s closet, P.O Box 864, Denver City, TX 79323, 806-215-7219.
