Murriel “Murno” Duff (1934-2018)

On Monday, September 17, 2018, Murriel “Murno” Duff, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at the age of 83. Murriel was born on October 27, 1934, to Victor and Vena (Townsend) Carter in Brownfield, Texas. On March 13, 1963, she married the love of her life, John Clark Duff, in Brownfield, Texas.

Murno ran a daycare for the better part of 40 years and had an extraordinary impact on the families who were lucky enough to be a part of it. Murno loved unconditionally, and she embraced everyone with open arms. She was the cornerstone of families everywhere, especially her own. She was known for her quick wit, superb Checkers skills, and her innate ability to understand people and offer invaluable advice.

We will gather for fellowship and remembrance from 7-9 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2018, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel. Survivors include her children, Joe Duff and his wife Brenda; Kelly Duff and his wife Fonda; Kim Lindsey and Patricia Meyer; grandchildren Dominick Duff, Desira Sheckell and her husband Steven; Joshua Duff; R.J. Lindsey and his wife Lindsey; Andrea Meyer; Sarah Belgara and her husband Aaron; Robert Boyd and wife Jessica, Timothy Boyd and wife Iram, Parker Duff; Anthony Estill and Alex Estill. Other survivors include nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Jack Carter, Yvonne Charters, and Mary Jeffcoat.
