The family of Oran “Ray” Sirmons will celebrate his life at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 14, 2022, at Lake Ridge Chapel in Lubbock. Burial will be on Saturday, January 15, 2022, in Fife, Texas.

On Saturday, December 18, 2021, Ray Sirmons, loving husband, Dad, PaPa, and friend to many, passed away at the age of 72. Ray was born July 1, 1949, to Ruby and Oran Sirmons in Shamrock, Texas. He married Pamela Shaffer on October 5, 1968, in Amarillo, Texas. They moved to Brownfield in 1980, where they lived until 2007. Ray was a mechanic and worked for Terry County Tractor for many years before starting his own business, Ray’s Field and Shop Service. He was a member of Bikers Against Child Abuse and even served as President of the Lubbock chapter. Ray loved riding his Harley. He did so as much as he was able, traveling to see his family and the country he loved so much. He was a Christian and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oran Sirmons; mother, Ruby Sirmons; wife, Pamela Sirmons; wife, Sally Sirmons; brother, James Sirmons; sister, Judy Kifolo; brother, Carl Sirmons; sister, Susie Berry; and sister, Linda Richardson.

Ray is survived by his children, Michael Sirmons and wife Kari of Lubbock and Cindy Franklin of Lubbock, and his sister, Elizabeth McKillip of Mesa, Arizona. Ray also leaves behind the pride of his life, his grandchildren, Zach McWhorter, Bailee Sirmons, Collin Franklin, Brooks Franklin, Ryder Franklin, Jake Harris, Hannah Ford, Joe Harris, as well as great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

The family suggests a memorial contribution to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Lubbock, Texas in lieu of flowers.
