Commentary With Dan Jackson: Folks, We Better Get Involved!

“Get it all on record now-get all the films-get the witnesses-because somewhere down the road of history some bastard will get up and say that this never happened.” Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower.

“But the most interesting-although horrible sight that I encountered during the trip was a visit to a German internment camp near Gotha, the things I saw beggar description. While I was touring the camp I encountered three men who had been inmates and by one ruse or another had made their escape. I interviewed them through an interpreter. The visual evidence and the verbal testimony of starvation, cruelty, and bestiality were so overpowering as to leave me a bit sick. In one room, where they were piled up twenty or thirty naked men, killed by starvation, George Patton would not even enter. He said he would get sick if he did so. I made the visit deliberately, in order to be in position to give first-hand evidence of these things if ever, in the future, there develops a tendency to charge these allegations merely to propaganda. Letter, DDE to George C. Marshall, 4/15/45 Papers of Dwight David Eisenhower, The War Years.
These are the words of former President and General Dwight D. Eisenhower upon seeing the camp at Gotha seventy-four years ago. The horrors visited on the Jewish people of Europe were unimaginable, but they happened and over 6 million Jews were killed during the course of WWII. Our Greatest Generation fought and liberated Europe and the survivors of these camps. I had the honor of knowing a man who stormed up the beach on D-Day and went all the way through Europe. Our country lost so many so that the Nazi scourge could be stopped.
I say all this to remind those of you too young to know. Today I read an article from Fox News about Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, (D-MI) who said she gets a “Calming Feeling” whenever she thinks about the Holocaust. We have another Congresswoman who has made several Anti-Semitic remarks since taking office. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) who said of our relationship with Israel, “It’s all about the Benjamins Baby.” Wow, this from two elected members of the Congress of the United States? What has happened? Where did our country go wrong? Why are heads not exploding? And to add insult to injury the party of inclusion has done nothing to censure either of these women.
I have friends, who did tours through Iraq and Afghanistan, and the very people we were fighting along with their horrid ideas, we now have elected to the Congress? The highly enlightened members of the Democratic Party don’t seem to get that these folks want to return to what we’ve tried to stamp out around the world.
There is no place for Anti-Semitism. Too many fought and died to stop the horrors of WWII for that kind of hatred to make a comeback now. It’s a disgrace these two women are in office and continue to utter this kind of garbage. We hear so much about Freedom of Speech, however, what do you think the response would have been if a member of the Republican Party had made statements like these two have? I can tell you, there would be a rush to do everything possible to remove them from office, and rightfully so. Instead, we get nothing…
Folks, we better get involved and stand up for what we believe or our country will fall into the Anti-Semitism happening in Europe
As a customer of mine has said many times,” The Jewish people are God’s chosen people, and we should remember that.” Indeed we should…
