Funeral services for Pansy Darlene Blevins Merritt will be held 10 am Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Breedlove officiating. Burial will follow in the Terry County Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home.
There will be a family visitation on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Brownfield Funeral Home from 6pm to 8pm.
Darlene passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017 in Brownfield. She was born January 15, 1934 in Bridgeport to S.E. and Eva Jane Blevins. She moved to Brownfield in 1944. Darlene’s mother led her to Christ when she was 10 years old, under a large tree in their backyard on their farm. She attended Isbell’s University of Beauty Culture and South Plains College. Darlene owned My Lady’s Beauty Salon and then Parkside Day Care.
Darlene was Married to Robert Earl Briscoe and had two children, Robert Eugene Briscoe and Carolyn Darlene McNutt. She remarried Alton Merritt and had a daughter, Elizabeth Renea Nave. Darlene had 8 grandchildren, Jason McNutt, Amy Breedlove, Heather Baker, Liz Ortiz, Ethan Briscoe, Summer Meredith, Logan Nave, Lexie Nave, and 12 great grandchildren, Dax Baker, Kaleb McNutt, Allyson Baker, Derek Baker, Kolby McNutt, Christopher Breedlove, Caroline Ortiz, Karson McNutt, Ellie Breedlove, Jackson Breedlove, Katie Breedlove and Jaxon Meredith, other close relatives, Buddy and Nancy Briscoe, Jim and Rhonda Baker, Waynda Jo Shook, Ricky Blevins, and several nieces and nephews.
