DENTON, Eddie Pauline Denton was born September 3, 1918, and went to be with her Lord July 15, 2017. Pauline was born at home near Bern in Clark County, Arkansas to George Irving and Mary Nannie Nelson. Pauline graduated from Brownfield High School, Brown-field, Texas and subsequently attended Droughn Business College in Lubbock, Texas. She married the love of her life Harold B. Denton May 31, 1938. Pauline and Harold had two children, Michael G. Denton, Sr. and Mary Anne Casstevens. In their early years together, Pauline and Harold lived in Brownfield, Texas and later, for 39 years, in Lovington, New Mexico. While in Lovington Pauline helped Harold in the family’s retail hardware store. Following Harold’s passing February 25, 1978, Pauline lived for many years in Lubbock and, in her last years, at Caruth Haven in Dallas. Pauline was a committed Christian and a member of the Eastern Star. Pauline, a quiet and private person, was a continuing support to her parents as they aged and spent significant time with them in Prescott, Arkansas, until their passing. Pauline is survived by her daughter, Mary Anne of Denham Springs, Louisiana and son, Mike and daughter-in-law Mary Ann of Dallas, six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Pauline was preceded in death by her beloved sister Mary Kathleen Holterbosch of Oyster Bay, New York, and her two brothers, Homer W. Nelson of Brownfield and George Lynn Nelson of Lubbock. A family graveside service was held at Sparkman Hillcrest Cemetery in Dallas July 19, 2017. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice or the charity of your choice.
