Memorial visitation for Phillip Edward McCarty, 60, will be from 2-4 pm, Saturday March 27th at First Church of the Nazarene, 6110 Chicago Ave in Lubbock.


Phillip passed away Tuesday, March 23rd in Mancos Co due to a stroke. He did not suffer.


He was born May 12th, 1960 in Lubbock to Ronnie and Sallye McCarty.


Phillip was one of a kind and was known for his humor. He was a lifelong cowboy. In his early days he was a bull rider. He was known for his excellence in training horses. Working on numerous farms, ranches and racetracks in TX, OK, and Colorado.


Survivors include: Daughter Brandye Jo and husband Nate Ballard, Gr children Cason, Harlie and Tinlee of Crane, Tx. Son, Casey McCarty of Cortez, Co. Mother, Sallye McCarty of Lubbock. Sister Leta and husband Howard Messinger of Salinas, Ca. Brother Patrick McCarty and wife Diana of Lubbock. Numerous nieces and nephews.
