Plains ISD is excited to announce Mark Pittman will be the new Agriculture Science Teacher for Plains ISD. Mark Pittman will be recommended to the Board on Tuesday June 28th at 2:00 PM. Mr. Pittman brings many positives to our Cowboy & Cowgirl Ag program. He is currently the Ag Teacher for San Diego ISD. He served 2 tours in Iraq as a member of the United States Army as a Heavy Wheel Vehicle Mechanic and a member of the Quick Reaction Force. Mr. Pittman grew up on a ranch in Orange Grove where he actively participated in FFA and was a main stay in the Ag program. Mr. Pittman studied Agricultural Sciences at Texas A&M University Kingsville. He is currently pursuing his masters from the same institution where he is focusing on Agricultural Sciences and Adult Education. His desire is to offer dual credit and Advanced Ag courses to his students and adults in the community. He is married to Lizette, who will be a 5th and 6th grade ELAR teacher at Plains Elementary and Middle School, and they have two children, Mark who will be entering the 2nd grade, and Lavelle who will be entering the 7th grade.

Mr. Pittman will bring positive energy with a focus on hard work to our Ag program. The Cowboy and Cowgirl Ag program is rich in tradition, and we believe we have found the ideal candidate to continue that tradition while building for the future. Mr. Pittman will go right to work taking students to the State Leadership Conference in Dallas. Please join us at the reception to meet Mr. Pittman and his family at 3:30 p.m. in the Commons (high school entrance). We are excited to welcome Mr. Pittman and his family to Plains ISD!
