The Denver City Lions Club along with The Lions of Texas and Lions International will partner with Denver City Independent School district to recognize Prevent Child Abuse Day in Texas.

Each Lions Club within the state will choose a day in April for this recognition. The day for Denver City will be on April 15.

Lions Club Governor Van Hoose has asked clubs to plan an activity during the month where each member “wears red” to bring notice to this issue.

Governor Van Hoose is asking every community to, “Partner with their school…talk to a counselor or nurse for ideas on what each community can do. Let your community know what Lions stand for. Plan an event and make this a membership moment as well,” he said.

The local organization is also asking citizens within the community to also wear red on April 15 to help everyone recognize this problem nationwide.

In addition rubber bracelets that says Prevent Child Abuse will be passed out on each campus for students to wear on that particular day.
