Thursday, October 25, 2018, saw a few costumed cuties and many munchies at the Yoakum County Library Plains for the StoryTime pumpkin party! After pledges and the counting of days on the calendar, the children sang “Days of the Week.” Those in attendance included Ben, Tirzah, Reid, Nellie, Isabella, Benny, Lena, Kaylin, Henry, Saige, Jedidiah, Brit, Rylee, Lathe, Tucker, Knox, Aaron, and Avery.
The songs “Days of the Week” and “Hokey Pokey” provided a fun introduction into sharing the first story: “Pumpkin Day!” The second book “Pick a Circle, Gather Squares” allowed for an interactive learning with foam shapes and identifying the shapes. “Find a Pumpkin” was the last book the group enjoyed. The youngsters feasted on a couple of cupcake varieties, veggies and fruit options, muffins, cookies, and, of course, pumpkin bread! The video clips were from “Guess How Much I Love You.”
All ages are welcome at the Family StoryTime, which meets weekly at the Yoakum County Library in Plains at 10:30 AM each Thursday. Find “Yoakum County Library Plains” on Facebook to keep up-to-date with all the community events.
