obit_placeholder_07Funeral services for Janan Rushing, 77, of Quitman, are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home with Brother Mike Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.

Rebecca Janan Rushing was born August 25, 1938 in Floydada, TX to Vernon and Emma (Martin) Gilbreath and passed away July 19, 2016 in Tyler. She lived most of her life in Quitman and was a graduate of Quitman High School class of 1958. She and her husband, Curtis, opened the Minnow Bucket in 1983 and she was also a secretary for Goldsmith & Morse Insurance.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Rushing.

Survivors include two sons, Darrell Rushing and wife Pam of Quitman, and Bobby Rushing and wife Deedi of Tyler; brother, Reggie Gilbreath and wife Wendy of Denver City; three sisters, Gwen Laminack of Amarillo, Mattie Wynne and husband Ronnie of Odessa, Patricia Milner and husband Steve of Temple; four grandchildren, Macie Thompson and husband Logan of Fort Worth, Candace Bates and husband Tyler of Quitman, Dillan Rushing of Tyler, and Chelsea Rushing of Tyler; and a large extended family.
