RL Smith, Jr.

January 23, 1954 – January 16, 2021

RL Smith Jr. passed away on January 16, 2021 in Brownfield. He was born on January 23, 1954 in Littlefield to Roland Lee Sr. and Dorothy Smith.

RL graduated from Richland High School then went on to Serve in the United States Airforce. After serving for his country RL went to Southwest Baptist Seminary where he graduated. RL was a good faithful son, brother and father. He was a member and music minister of Bethel Baptist Church.

RL is preceded in death by his father, Roland Lee Smith Sr.; sister, Fran Coleman; brother, Brent Smith; step father, Ted Moore. 

RL is survived by his mother, Dorothy Moore; sister, Jan and husband Michal Rotenberry; step sisters, Sydnee and husband Paul Bertucci, Amy Moore; step brother Royce and wife Maxine Moore; sister-in-law, Leona Smith; 3 children, 4 grandchildren, several aunts and cousins. 

Memorial service will be held at 2pm January 30, 2021 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Payne officiating and Rev. Leland Kaimimoku assisting.  

In leu of flowers the family request donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church under RL’s name.
