The roadways in the Brownfield Cemetery had been getting in fairly poor condition for some time. But, thanks to a couple of very generous donors, some of the roads at this cemetery have gotten new blacktop. The entrance and the north loop were both repaired, leveled and then blacktopped. And it really looks good.
The road work began on Saturday, October 17 and is being completed on Tuesday, October 20.
The Terry County Cemetery Association serves this cemetery, as well as the Terry County Cemetery and the Mt. Zion Cemetery. The Association relies almost solely on donations and has recently been struggling to find enough money to provide upkeep to all three cemeteries.
If you would like to make a donation to the Cemetery Board for the upkeep of these cemeteries, this can be done at the County Treasurer’s Office at the Terry County Courthouse.
