Rubilee (Reep) Craig

Lubbock- Rubilee Reep Craig 91, passed away on June 8, 2018. She was born at Camp Springs, Scurry County, Texas on February 11, 1927, to Joe and ‘Jake’ Reep. She was associated with the First National Bank in Brownfield, Texas for 30 years until her retirement in 1990. She was married to Nathan Shepherd from 1944 until his death in 1976 and to MJ Craig from 1979 until his death in 2015. She belonged to the Nancy Anderson Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Stephen W. Wilkerson Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Daughters of Pioneers, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She was a 1984 graduate of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at SMU, Dallas, Texas and was the first woman president of the Brownfield Chamber of Commerce. While residing in Mission, Texas she was involved in the First Methodist Church serving as chairman of the Finance Committee and the Board of Trustees, The Walk to Emmaus, and served as President of the Mission Hospital Volunteers. She is survived by four grandchildren; Latisha Weber, Kris (Kyra) Shepherd, Jill Carper and Darren (Christina) Vickers, two stepchildren; Jimmy (Elaine) and Joseph (Valerie) Craig. Three step-grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, one sister; Bobbie (Lonnie) Weems, three nieces, and two nephews. She is predeceased by her two sons; Ronnie Shepherd and Kent Shepherd, both husbands, parents and sister, Sue Inman. She is a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and John Wesely Sunday school class. She has bequeathed her body to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. A memorial will be held at St. Luke’s Methodist Church on June 16, 2018, at 1:00 p.m.
