Service for Ruby Moorhead, 96, of Brownfield will be held at 10 am Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Carter officiating and Rev. Eddie McHugh assisting.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Brownfield Funeral Home.
Ruby passed away on Saturday, March, 14, 2015 in Brownfield. She was born on February 28, 1919 in Sherman to John Henry and Carrie Lee Overman. Ruby married L.O. (Lick) Moorhead in 1941, and he preceded her in death in 1976. She then married T.F. (Foster) Winn in 1978, and he preceded her in death in 1981. Ruby worked for 36 years as a nurse and graduated in the top 3% of the nation as an LVN. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Ruby is preceded in death by her husbands, L.O. (Lick) Moorhead and T.F. (Foster) Winn, 2 brothers, and one sister.
Ruby is survived by 2 sons, Howard Moorhead of Wellman, Johnnie Moorhead of Abilene; 3 sisters, Thelma Benson of Brownfield, Ruth Martin of Palm Springs, CA, Sue Mantooth of Milford; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
