Sharon Kay Gilbert, 54, of Andrews passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018, in Andrews surrounded by her family.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at a memorial service at 2:00 PM Monday, November 19, 2018, at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews.  Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.  Please celebrate her life by visiting www.mcnettfuneralhome.com.

Sharon was born on December 16, 1963, in Brownfield, Texas to Lacy David Gilbert and Nellie Mildred Duckworth.  She was raised in Brownfield and worked as a beautician in Brownfield and Seminole over the years.  She had worked as a truck driver and as a cook for the Meal on Wheels in Brownfield.  She moved to Andrews in 2015.  She enjoyed collecting owls, going on road trips with family and was everyone’s favorite sister and aunt.  She will be remembered as loving, caring, stubborn, and strong-willed, but she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.  She was a Christian and was raised in the Apostolic faith.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Mildred Hernandez, father, Lacy David Gilbert, 1 sister, Pat Brown, and 5 brothers, Lynn, Charles, Clifton “Brother”, Johnny, and Carroll Gilbert.

Sharon is survived by her spouse, Jesse Silva; 5 children, Richard Salinas of Andrews, Amanda Salinas of Seminole, Lucie Salinas of Seminole, Nellie Salinas of Andrews, and Armando Salinas, Jr. of Andrews; 3 sisters, Evone “Sis” Browning of Peoria, Arizona, Nellie “Scooter” Ernsberger of White Oak, and Francis “Pumpkin” Brown of Sherman; 1 brother, Jimmy Gilbert of Lubbock; 12 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and 4 dogs, Penelope, Jasmine, Lily, and Daisy.
