Sisilio was born on March 21, 1949, to Sisilio, Sr. and Eusebia Aguirre Castilleja in Brownfield, TX. He was a life-long resident of Terry County and attended school in Meadow. It was there in High School where he finally convinced Gloria Davila to give him her heart and they’ve been together ever since. They were married at St. Anthony’s on February 4, 1968, and shared 52 wonderful years together.

Sisilio was a hard-working man who enjoyed farming and serving his community. He was a farmer, but he also worked for 21 years at the Furr’s Warehouse in Lubbock. Cecil proudly served as a Terry County Commissioner from 2013-2017, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was constantly putting his mechanic skills to use for his family and friends and was known as a very generous man that would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.

His grandkids named him “Grandpa Ranch” and say he “gave the best advice.” They also say he was an “avid nap taker,” that is, until you changed the channel. He was a Washington Redskins fan, but enjoyed watching sports of all kinds. He will be remembered for his good fashion sense and sense of humor, but most of all for the love and wisdom he shared with his family. He will be deeply missed!

Sisilio was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Pete Castilleja. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Gloria Davila Castilleja; 2 sons, Marcelino Castilleja (Linda) and Edward Castilleja (Jamie), both of Brownfield; a daughter-in-law, Toni Jaime of Meadow; 2 brothers Paul Castilleja (Sharon) of Joseph, OR, Fred Castilleja (Maggie) of Lubbock; 4 sisters, Lupe Garcia of Garland, Lucia Salas (Eliseo) of Brownfield, Janie Gonzales of Brownfield, and Amelia Gatt (Rick) of Arlington; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
