A proclamation was signed on Friday morning setting aside the Week of September 5 – 11, 2021 as National Suicide Prevention Week in Terry County and the City of Brownfield. Also, the Day of September 10 is set aside as World Suicide Prevention Day

The proclamation was signed by both City of Brownfield Mayor Tom Hesse and Terry County Judge Butch Wagner.
Attending the ceremony were many whose lives have been touched by suicide. These same people have also organized the Annual Suicide Awareness and Prevention Walk, which will be held at Coleman Park on Saturday, September 11. This walk will begin at 10 a.m. There will be a guest speaker and Suicide Awareness shirts will be available for purchase.
If you are one who has lost a loved to suicide, there will be a memory table to place 5X7 pictures of your loved ones.
The walk will begin at the Party House at Coleman Park.
