Terry County Commissioners Court meets

Terry County Commissioners Court meets

The Terry County Commissioners met in what, hopefully, could be their last Zoom meeting. Judge Butch Wagner stated that he has plans for the Court to meet in person at the March 8 meeting, which will be the next meeting for the Court.

There was a brief agenda with all routine business. All Commissioners were present with the exception of Mike Swain.

The minutes were read and approved. Motion was made by Commissioner Ernie Elizardo and it was seconded by Commissioner Kirby Keesee. Approval was given to pay the bills. The bills this month were down from previous months. Keesee made the motion to pay the bills, with Commissioner Matin Lefevere making the second to the motion.

In the discussion portion of the agenda, there was some discussion about whether or not Terry County would be declared a disaster in wake of the winter storm. The Judge stated that the decision has not been made. Even though the Governor has declared all of Texas a disaster area, in order to qualify for FEMA funds, each entity has to also make that declaration. There are areas of the county that may need help with pavement issues, as well as water line issues.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Commissioners Court is March 8 at 10 a.m.
