Terry County remains in drought conditions

by admin

According to the latest Drought Monitor map, Terry and Yoakum Counties remain in drought conditions. The last measurable rainfall Terry County has received (prior to this weekend, which didn’t really account for much) was the first part of October.

Even though we had a nice wet growing season, it does not take long for the soil moisture to be depleted. As a result, we find ourselves back in the “Moderate Drought” category according to the Drought Monitor.

If you look at the US map, you can see that a large part of the nation is currently in drought conditions, as well.

Please be aware of any leaking faucets, or sprinklers that may be running when they do not need to be. Let’s all make every effort to conserve our precious water resources.
