Listen to Dan Jackson as he continues the saga of Bonnen & Sullivan on this week’s edition of The PAC Show. He also talks with special guest Dale Schaffner from Americot.
For the last month the GOP in Texas has been buzzing about the meeting between Speaker Bonnen, Representative Dustin Burrow, and Michael Q. Sullivan of Empower Texans. While I won’t revisit the drama completely, there are a couple of points I’d like to highlight. First, while Mr. Sullivan is revealing in the media attention for his group and his insistence that laws were broken…there weren’t any laws broken. No money changed hands; no one will be financially rewarded. This was POLITICS, the jest of which was the 2020 election cycle that’s it. Were there members talked about, yes. It is politics, and it will always involve people. Number two, why in the wide world of sports did the Speaker seek a meeting with Sullivan? That’s the question I’d like to ask him and our friend Representative Burrows. Sullivan and his group had been very critical of the session, and what was achieved. When you have both houses, and parties talking about the session in a positive way that’s a win, period. Now if you’re Mr. Sullivan and your group told its supporters they were going to get this and that done…and well didn’t, you have to make yourself relevant again.
Which begs the question why hasn’t Mr. Sullivan released the full recording?? I mean if it’s as damning as he’s lead everyone to believe release it and let us all hear it. He continues to take shots at Bonnen and Burrows, who both have asked for the tapes to be released…Funny, for two guys who according to Sullivan, are guilty of whatever he’s alleging, they don’t act it. In fact Representative Burrows last week made an appearance on the Chad Hasty Show, and was very candid, and stated he welcomed the Rangers involvement, and again called for Sullivan to release the tape, but went on to say releasing it would allow for an even better discussion and obviously clarify what went on…
But still we wait….
