TownTalk:David Martinez new Business Manager talks about BISD “A” Financial Integrity Rating

The BISD school board for their regular meeting Monday night.

Headlining the meeting was the “A” Financial Integrity Rating that the school received with a total score of 96 up from a 78. The rating was based on the 2017-2018 school year and new Business Manger David Martinez expressed on Town Talk that the plan moving forward is to maintain and improve their score moving forward.

The school also announced two new grants which include equipment purchases for the new welding vocational wing in the High School as well as a grant that will give the school two new employees that will focus on community and student connections at the Oak Grove and Middle School campuses.

The next item discussed was a surplus in the food and nutrition budget that will hopefully be used for upgrades at the Oak Grove cafeteria.
