Velma Brown (1934-2018)

Mrs. Brown died Sunday, November 11, 2018, at her residence in Brownfield. Services for Mrs. Velma Brown will be held at 1:00 p.m., November 16, 2018,
at the Greater New Hope Baptist Church.
She was born to the late Henry and Emma Hyson Hankins June 17, 1934, in Redwater, Texas. She moved at a very young age to Brownfield and was a homemaker. She was a member of Greater New Hope Baptist Church in Brownfield. She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include; eight sons, Robert Hankins of Texarkana, Thomas Crawford of Brownfield, Terry Wayne Crawford of Texarkana, David Leon Brown of Brownfield, Roy Jr. Brown and wife Lydia of Lubbock, Kenneth Brown of Brownfield, Dennis Brown and wife Evelyn of Lubbock, and Kevin and wife Rose Brown of Brownfield; seven daughters Virginia Hall of Texarkana, Lucy Johnson of Brownfield, Purlene Brown and Burlene Brown both of Lubbock, Barbara Brown of Dallas, Raylee brown and Karen Brown both of Lubbock; one brother Ernest Hankins of Texarkana, two sisters Lorene McMahon and Niopira Butler both of Mesquite; twenty-seven grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends on November 15, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. at the Ratliff Funeral  Home Chapel in Brownfield.
