Walter Raymond Caviness

November 16, 1934 – July 24, 2022

Walter Raymond Caviness, 87, of Levelland passed from this life on July 24, 2022. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 28, 2022, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel. He was born November 16, 1934, to Troy “Pete” and Ruth Caviness in Loving, New Mexico.

Walter entered the United States Navy after graduating from New Mexico State University. After serving our country in the Navy, he entered into the agriculture and chemical field in sales. Walter married Patricia Caviness in April 1981 and she preceded him in death in August 2015. He was involved in the VFW organization for many years where he served as Post Commander in Brownfield, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; and his parents, Troy “Pete” and Ruth Caviness. Walter is survived by his sister, Jean Anderson; children, Jack Caviness and Melissa and Doug Northcutt; step-children, Ellen Collins, and Max and Karon Cheney; grandchildren, Kyle and Kody Caviness, Hank, Jamie, and Davis Northcutt; step-grandchildren, Chase and Kendra Lane, Hunter and Lindsey Collins, Keifer Collins, Jennifer, and Thomas Cronick, Cassandra Cheney and Patti Cheney; and step-great-grandchildren, Maesyn and Kennedy Lane, Roan and Henry. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of the professionals at Krestridge Funeral Home.
