Meetings, opportunities for giving, opportunities for service! We will list your events (as long as it is a not for profit event) and meetings for free! Email your event to gina@towntalkradio.com and we will get it added to our list.

Meeting Opportunities

The American Legion holds their monthly meeting in the American Legion Building on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. If you are a veteran, or family member of a veteran feel free to join this group. They do many things that make a difference in the community.

The Terry County Retired Teachers Association meets each month on the first Tuesday. The meetings are at 11 a.m. and are being held at the Terry County Senior Center. The Retired Teachers Association works hard in state government to make a difference for all teachers. It is important to be a part of this organization if you are a retired educator in Terry County. TCRTA does take a break in the summer.

The Noon Lions meet every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month at noon at the Party House in Coleman Park. Anyone is welcome to join this great service organization.

The Red Skirts meet on the first Tuesday of each month. Lunch is provided. This fun group of ladies support the efforts of the Chamber of Commerce.

The Rotary Club meets on the second Thursday of each month at Platinum H Steakhouse on Tahoka Road. This service organization meets at 12 noon. Everyone is invited to attend and join.

Opportunities to Give

Many organizations in Terry County rely solely on contributions to survive. All could use your help.

Our Promise Youth Academy makes such a difference in our community and in the lives or our kids. Consider a donation to keep this organization going strong! Donations can be mailed to 301 East Broadway Street in Brownfield.

The Terry County Senior Center always needs your support. This group provides a hot meal to many older folks in the County. They have also allowed their building to be used for many educational events in the past, as well as other events. Donations to the Senior Center can be mailed to Box 1021 Brownfield. The Center plans to once again open to the public in May.

The Terry County Cemetery Association also needs your support. This organization is the caretaker of the Terry County, Brownfield, and Mt. Zion Cemeteries in Terry County. They rely on donations and the sale of cemetery plots for all the work done in the cemeteries. Donations can be taken by the Terry County Treasurer’s Office in the Terry County Courthouse.

The Terry County United Fund is an organization that offers support to other not for profit organizations in Terry County. This is not affiliated in any way with the United Way Campaign. All money given to the Terry County United Fund is kept local. Donations can be mailed to Box 788 Brownfield, or taken by the Lone Star State Bank.

ACES is a great organization that makes a great difference in our community. This organization provides scholarships each year to many local seniors who qualify. Weekly events are held that are geared toward all age ranges. Fun family events are held. This group utilizes fund raisers and donations to do all that they do. They can certainly use your donations. Mail donations to Box 323 Brownfield.
