What’s happening this weekend??

As the weekend begins, you might be asking yourself what is there to do in Brownfield this weekend. There is plenty, especially if you are a fan of baseball and softball.

The weather looks good, although we do wish it would rain! But it will be a nice weekend to get out and enjoy some of what we have going on in Terry County this weekend!

Friday night, Triple D has their regular Friday night entertainment with Kipp and Carrie Larue Wilks. Get out and enjoy a glass of wine, a steak and great music and great company!

Saturday, oh boy! All day long sporting events. The day begins with Opening Day Ceremonies at the Brownfield Sports Complex as the Terry County Youth Sports begin their summer season. The ceremonies begin at 10:30 a.m. The first pitch will be thrown at 11:30 a.m. by State Champion Coach Michelle Wyatt. The games begin immediately and are scheduled all day long. There will be no admission charge to anyone and plenty to eat at the concession stand. Get out and see this great facility and support our youngest athletes as they start their season.

The Lady Cubs will look to improve their District record to 5-1 as they face Denver City at noon at the Lady Cubs new ballpark. These girls are fun to watch and their bats do get hot! Make it out to watch these kiddos compete.

The Cubs will also face Denver City on Saturday in a 5 p.m game. These guys are doing great and really working hard on the diamond. Look for lots of hits on Saturday at this game.

Stop by McDonald’s or Sonic between games for a refreshing shake or ice cold drink and do a little driving around and see what is new in Brownfield. New homes. Renovations on buildings for new business. Lots to see as you drive around!

Sunday, the day of rest and the Lord’s Day! Get out to one of the great churches in Terry County with your family and start the week off right. Most services begin around 9:30 with Sunday School and worship around 10:30. There is no better way to start your week and end your weekend!

(Businesses and churches mentioned are our sponsors.)
