County official serves as a leader of an organization that represents all 254 Texas counties
Yoakum County Pct. 4 Commissioner Tim Addison has been elected vice president of the Texas Association of Counties’ (TAC) Board of Directors.
Board members unanimously elected Addison to the position on May 20. He replaces Tom Green County Auditor Nathan Cradduck, who was named the Board’s new president-elect following Glasscock County Judge Kim Halfmann’s recent retirement from county government.
“After almost 15 years in office, I’m still learning on the job every day. I am fortunate to serve with many talented and dedicated people in Yoakum County,” Addison said. “The Texas Association of Counties provides essential services to my county as well as to the other 253 counties in Texas. I look forward to serving as vice president of this organization and continue my learning process to make county government more effective.”
Addison, 58, joined the TAC Board of Directors in December 2019. He previously served as president of the West Texas County Judges and Commissioners Association.
He is a sixth-generation Texan whose family has been farming and ranching in Yoakum County for more than 100 years. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Texas Tech University and worked at Wells Fargo in Denver City before joining county government. He and his wife, Judi, have three adult children – two sons and a daughter – and three grandchildren.
“We are fortunate to have Tim serving as a leader of our association,” TAC Executive Director Susan M. Redford said. “He is committed to excellence in public service, and I look forward to working with him in support of counties statewide.”
TAC is the representative voice for all 254 Texas counties. TAC’s Board of Directors is comprised of at least one county official from each county office. Its members help set TAC’s policy and budget. They also establish the scope of TAC’s services, which include education and training for county officials, communications on county issues, and access to health benefits and risk management services.
