The Commissioners Court met in regular session on Tuesday, July 5.
In their first action the Commissioners unanimously approved $10,000 in contingency funds for OPEB valuations.
Tax Assessor/Collector Jan Parrish was appointed to calculate the Effective and Rollback Tax Rates for the Tax Year 2016.
Next on the agenda the Court unanimously approved a petition to Versado Gas Processors for the right and authority to bore, lay, construct, install, occupy, use, operate, maintain, repair, replace or remove gas pipeline under County Road 125 and 270 in sections 583 and 584 in Precinct #2.
Along the same lines the Court also unanimously approved a petition to Riley Exploration Operating Company, LLC, for the right and authority to bore, lay, construct, install, occupy, use, operate, maintain, repair, replace or remove gas pipeline under County Road 215 and 28 also in Precinct #2.
There was no request for disposal of county equipment and three line item transfers. Commissioner Ty Earl Powell had one Soil Conservation request in Section 341 from David Sanders.
Commissioner Woody Lindsey had no updates on the Senior Citizen Building Project.
Commissioner Marion said bids on the new Denver City Community building are due on July 15 and will be awarded on July 25. Marion stated, “Everyone should see some work going on our new Community Building by the end of July, no later than the first of August.”
In auditing and settling all accounts against the County the Court approved to pay $39,476.22 from the General Fund, $13,498.94 from Precinct #1, $205.93 from Precinct #2, $8,370.16 from Precinct #3, and $6,998.43 from Precinct #4, $125.00 to the Justice Court Tech JP 1 for a grand total of $76,192.52.
In medically related items $177,191.27 was paid to the hospital fund, $6,843.63 to West Texas Medical Center, $644.40 to the Plains Clinic and $229.71 for a grand total of hospital bills of $184,679.30.
Other medically related bills included $227.00 to Home Health and $6,596.31 to the Dialysis Center for an overall total of $191,502.61 of medically related bills.
All Commissioners were present, along with County Judge Jim Barron.
The next meeting will be held on Monday, July 11 at 10 am in the County Courthouse.
