The dust has settled, and two of the three municipal entities that had elections will see some change. According to the Terry County Joint Elections Office, in the Brownfield ISD At-Large ( two positions), 1,044 votes were cast, and 338 undervotes were recorded. This means there were 691 ballots cast that had the BISD election on them. Undervotes occur when no vote is cast for a single-choice election. In other words, a voter can choose two but decides to choose one or skip that election altogether; however, cast a vote for another entity’s seat. Incumbent Matthew “Big Matt” Valdonado received the most votes at 325, and Incumbent Cat Gonzalez had the second most at 285 for the BISD Board of Trustees At-Large. Both retained their positions. Sara Hernandez received 224, Eric Gonzales had 144, and Rocio Gamez got 66.
