Funeral Services for Ramon Lira will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Brownfield Cemetery under the direction of Brownfield Funeral Home. 

Viewing will be held from 10 am to 8 pm, Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Brownfield Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 6 pm.

Ramon peacefully departed this world on August 26, 2023, at the age of 63. Born on July 19, 1960, in Victoria, Texas, Ramon brought joy and laughter into the lives of those who knew him.

Ramon was a hardworking man, dedicating his life to his various occupations. He worked at BISD for 14 years and H&M for 5 years. Additionally, he contributed his skills to Ref-Chem Oil Co., farming and as a contractor, utilizing his expertise to cultivate and build.

Ramon had many passions that brought him joy when he wasn’t working. He had a love for automobiles and spent countless hours working on cars and collecting model cars. He found great pleasure in teaching his grandchildren the intricacies of vehicle maintenance, passing on his knowledge and skills to the next generation. An avid football enthusiast, Ramon always had a soft spot for the Carolina Panthers, cheering on his favorite team with unwavering support. Additionally, he found excitement and entertainment in frequent visits to the casino, where he would try his luck at the tables.

Ramon is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Antonia Lira, and three sisters, Maria Valenzuela, Andrea Lira, and Minnie Avila.

Ramon is survived by his wife, Diana Lira; children, Angela Lira and wife, Jill, Jacob Lira and wife, Crystal, Marcus Lira and his dog, Stella Kidd; eight grandchildren, Nicholas, Leeland, Giovani, Jessica, Andrew, Hali, Fabian, and Matthew; and two brothers, Robert Lira and Jesse Lira.
