TownTalk Show On-Demand: Brownfield & Terry County Goodfellows

by Eric

Hey everyone, listen to this important edition of the TownTalk Show On-Demand as we talk with a representative of the Brownfield & Terry County Goodfellows.

Goodfellows is a local organization started by the Lions Club years ago by volunteers, to provide a Christmas meal and toys to needy families in Brownfield and Terry County. According to Brownfield City Manager Jeff Davis, Co-Goodfellow Chief, this is a local organization, and all donations are given to local families and a majority of the money donated is spent locally.

Brownfield & Terry County Goodfellows was able to assist 233 families this past 2022 Christmas and provided over 792 purchased and donated toys to over 350 children aged 12 and under. Of the 233 families, 15 of those live out in the county. Goodfellows spent $20,434 on toys last year and in addition to toys, each family received a food box. The amount paid for groceries was $8,758.74, and of course, this cost is expected to rise.

Goodfellows was fortunate this year and received several donations, which was a great help. However, the need for your continued support is still requested as the demand is never-ending. Brownfield & Terry County Goodfellows would like to thank each person, business, and organizations for the continued support. Your donation helps so many families in the community!
