On January 24, 1950, Glenda Carol was born to Edgar and Joyce Nash in Quitaque, TX. She moved to Meadow, Texas on her birthday in 1956 and graduated from Meadow High School in 1968.  She married John Blake on December 2, 1968, at First Baptist Church in Meadow, Texas.  For many years, John and Carol farmed in Paducah, Texas.  In 1982, they relocated to Lubbock, Texas.  She retired from medical coding and billing from Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in 2013.  Her two passions in life were her granddaughters and Lady Raiders basketball.

Survivors include her husband, John Blake; their children, Shauna (James) Baughcum of Lubbock, Lee Blake of San Angelo; grandchildren, Katelyn (Logan) Baughcum-Gaines, and Kymber Baughcum;  brother, Bob (Kim) Nash of Arlington and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Nash; her mother, Joyce Nash.

Memorials

The family of Carol Blake has designated the Special Olympics Area 17-South Plains for memorial contributions donated in her memory.
