Ms. Wanda S. Brown 72, formerly of Brownfield passed away Tuesday December 14, 2021, at her residence in Anna, Texas. A visitation will be held Wednesday December 22, 2021, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Greater New Hope Baptist Church, Brownfield. A celebration of her life will begin at 12 p.m. She will be laid to rest in the historic Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Wanda was born June 27, 1949, in Brownfield to Elmer J. Jones Sr. and Mary Ella Fininen. She attended and graduated from Wheatley School and later went on to obtain her degree in nursing from South Plains College. Wanda eventually earned her RN certification and served as a nurse at Brownfield Regional Medical Center until her retirement in 2010.

After retiring and in 2013 she moved to Dallas, Texas to be closer to her children. A woman of faith, she was a faithful member of Greater New Hope Baptist Church where she served as the youth choir director. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and was a “homebody.”

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children; Katherine Fininen, Sylvester Fininen, Carolyn Young (Aubrey), Jamie Agers, Jeremy Agers (CJ), 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Howard E. Brown, parents; Elmer J. Jones Sr., and Mary Ella Fininen, sister; Gladys Hinton and brother Elmer J. Jones Jr.
